Oops they did it again! I still remembered the very moment when Yao first told us about their 2nd pregnancy, I couldn’t hold my excitement to welcome our tiniest member to join our Momo family! So as soon as Yao decided to have a gender reveal party and assigned me to be the only keeper of the gender reveal envelope form her ultrasound, oh boy (oh should I say girl?), it wasn’t easy to keep the big surprise from our friends and families! However, planning her gender reveal party was truly one of the most joyful and unforgettable experience that I had and I’m so excited to share all the details with you!
Gender Reveal Balloon Backdrop
Balloons, balloons, and balloons! The main centerpiece of the gender reveal party that welcomed the guests was this pink and blue backdrop decorated with balloon arch in pastel blue, pink and ivory colors. I love this soft, pale color palette which gives a modern and clean look to the event. In front of the backdrop, I set up a simple yet elegant round table for the gender reveal cake, desserts and drinks.
The gender reveal took place at Yao’s backyard. This white brick wall has become the canvas for each party so it was no exception for this gender reveal party too! For the floating shelves, I mixed various honeycomb decorations including the round pink and blue honeycombs and the diamond honeycomb decorations, and topped it these cute milk bottle honeycomb in blue and pink. Along with the pink and blue balloon cloud above, they turned out modern yet still festive! Along with the script boy or girl foil balloon set, a prefect photo backdrop is ready for our guests to make the memorable moment extra special!Party Table - Choose Your Side!
Are you team pink or team blue? I split the dinner table into the blue side and the pink side using another gender reveal balloon garland and these beautiful blue and pink party fans as the centerpiece. When our guests arrived, we asked which gender they would guess for the baby. Each guest would then wear their gender sticker, get their gender drink, and choose which side to sit!On the table, I used this darling oh baby line including the gold stars runner, oh baby pink plates, napkins, and oh baby blue plates and napkins, along with the stork cups and this elegant gold/white cutlery set, a modern gender reveal tablescape was effortless! I love this wooden bay confetti on the table. It really made the table pop! These candyclub puffs in pink and blue made perfect party favors for our guests.Gender Reveal Cake
This gender reveal cake by @birdiebakery was simply stunning. Inspired by the event invitation and the backdrop decorations, it had the water color of pale pink and blue at the bottom and beautiful fondant balls on the side that matches the balloon arch. I topped the cake with this wooden oh baby cake topper in script letter for a simple and modern look. Isn’t it too pretty to eat?Drinks & Treats
For the drinks, I prepared some pink and blue cotton candy for the champaign glasses and poured champaign or La Croix in them which made the drinks pink and blue for the guests to choose depending on the team they chose! It was so fun and the cotton candy was definitely a hit for our little guests!
These matching oh baby food cups in pink and blue with star design are prefect for holding small treats, i.e. popcorns, candies, or fruits. They’re even oven safe (to 375º) for homemake bake goods like cupcakes or muffins! The Big Reveal
For the gender reveal, I used this gender reveal jumbo balloon kit and decorated it with these adorable balloon stickers with blue and pink tassel added. I also used these gender reveal confetti cannons for an extra effect for the big reveal. And guess what? It’s a girl!!!In the end, Yao and the family was so happy to celebrate this sweet moment with her closest friends in such a beautiful setting. And as for me, I was relieved since I don’t need to keep the secret of the baby gender anymore! ;)
