Graduation Party At Home
I can’t believe my son is graduating from per-school this year! How fast!! While in-person commencements and ceremonies across the country have been either canceled our postponed in the life of social distancing this year, I decided to throw him a mini pre-school graduation party from our home sweet home! As a proud mama, I wanted to acknowledge the achievements that he’s reached (even though they’re small) and to celebrate this important milestone with our immediate family.
Today, I’m excited to share these fun graduation ideas that are great for virtual graduation celebrations with friends and family afar or home school graduation ceremonies. Whether your class of 2020 graduate will be graduating from kindergarten, middle school, or even high school, these graduation party ideas are easily adaptable!
Modern Decorations
For the color palette, I went for the classic black and white with gold for the backdrop and the table. To give it a little modern twist, I kept the decor simple by pairing the graduate balloon garland with this beautiful gold tinsel garland. The gold really popped and brought the posh feel to the backdrop! For the table, I layered these chic French striped plates from our shop and added some gold dipped party cups and cutlery, just to put a little sophistication to a pre-schooler’s party table! 🤣
Make It Personal
To make the party even more personal, you can use decorating goods that are customizable like this simple yet modern letter banner. Include your grad’s name in the banner, or spell any words to wish them a bright future.. the sky is the limit! Adding this gold “hooray” script foil balloon to the banner to make it extra festive!
Foods & Sweets
Ordering to-go food from your grad’s favorite restaurant is a great idea! You can either pick it up or have it delivered it to your house for the whole family to enjoy a nice lunch or dinner. If you’re preparing a cake for the dessert, use these amazing letter-board cake toppers to spell your graduate’s name to make them feel extra special! If your grad has a sweet tooth, setting up a candy table with graduation themed candies is also a fun idea! Here are some of my favorite ideas. What’s your favorite?
- Gummy worms for “book worms”
- Smarties for “smarty pants”
- Nerds for “nerds”
- Starburst candies for “super stars”
- Dum-Dums for "You’re no dum-dum”
Drive-by Parade or Trunk Party
A drive-by graduation parade is a great way to show love and support to the graduate. Set up a mini station in the front yard or your garage gate with decorations like this beautiful graduation balloon garland and letter banner, or simply use any of these festive graduate foil balloons to celebrate with the grad from home!
Hope you find these ideas helpful. Until next time!
