Under The Sea Backyard Birthday Party

Since the lockdown earlier this year, my son Leo has been obsessed with the adorable show, Octonauts on Netflix. He just loves the wonder of the ocean and all kinds of sea animals! So for his 6th birthday, no doubt I had to throw my little sea prince an under the sea bash!  Backyard Party 

Celebrations this year have been rather tricky due to the lockdown. Thankfully we were able to still celebrate his special day with a small group of our local family and friends in our backyard which made it an intimate and sweet celebration!Balloon Arch 

Although it was a small gathering, I definitely still wanted to make sure the celebration was festive and special for my boy! Tai and I built this fun balloon arch in the yard to welcome the guests. I loved the color combinations of pale blue, gray and white which worked perfectly with these adorable shark balloon & hammerhead shark balloon. In addition, incorporating these clear orbz bubble balloons definitely helped bring the underwater scene to life! 

Table Decorations 

I dressed the dessert table with some fishing net along with some sea shells & pebbles. Along with this under the sea garland set in the back, I love this simple and modern look! 

These shark birthday hats for the little guests definitely added some playfulness to the celebration! 

Shark Cake & Treats

I got this fun shark buttercream birthday cake from our local bakery and dressed some store-bought cupcakes with this adorable under the sea cupcake kit which made it super easy for a busy mama! I did prepare some candy jars with blue jelly beans and Swedish fish for the little guest to bring home. They absolutely loved them!

Costume Fun

Since Leo’s birthday party fell on the day of Halloween, I asked our guests to dress up for the holiday! Leo and I had matching lobster and octopus costume. How fun was that?!
