Does your kid have a birthday near Halloween? What better way to throw a Halloween themed birthday party to celebrate their big day? Check out this kid-friendly Halloween themed birthday party for some spooky yet stylish inspiration!
We recently threw a spooky fun Halloween birthday bash for my Halloween-loving son’s 7th birthday and had such a boo-riffic time! Not only did everything turn out so perfectly but all our guests had a blast at this boo-thday party!
Backdrop Decorations
When asked which theme the birthday boy would like his Halloween party to be, he wanted all types of Halloween characters including ghosts, bats, spiders, witches and so on! So for this party, we went with the classic Halloween look which consisted of colors of black and orange. To elevate and “modernize” the look, we added a touch of blush and white to give it a little soft/cute feel which worked great for kids. With the curved wooden backdrop painted in black and blush, we incorporated a balloon cloud in black, orange, white and blush and decorated the backdrop with these pre-cut paper bats in orange to set the spooky Halloween scene.Boo! Paleta Cart
We all scream for… Halloween and ice cream! We rented this adorable paleta cart from Lisa @lavieposh.bylisamaciel and decorated it with this awesome Vintage Halloween Boo Banner Set. These honeycomb spiders were also hung from the umbrella to give extra spooky vibes. And the best thing is, kids were thrilled when Mr. Skelly served ice cream & ice pops!Kids Picnic Table
A long picnic table was set up on the grass area for the kids to enjoy their treats and cakes. We opted for a classic black and white monotone theme for the table. For the plates, these Night Sky Scallop Plates were layered with these fun Boo Small Plates & the Ghost Shaped Plates. To add a splash of orange, we used these adorable pumpkin bucket napkins and these vintage Halloween Party Cups with fringes which come with different Halloween characters including a witch, a black cat, a skull and a pumpkin. With this beautiful black and white cutlery set, all on the cream with black stripe table runner, a spooky yet modern Halloween tablescape was created!I created a floral centerpiece with some Halloween themed flowers that I got from the local dollar store and placed them in a black pumpkin bucket. Around it we incorporated some spooky skulls, flameless candles and some black/white pumpkins as table decorations to match the tableware.Cake, Cookies & Halloween Sweets Board
One of highlights from this party was definitely this fa-boo-lous ombre ghost cake by @from.flour. Not only was it beyond cute but also tasted extremely yummy! We also had these adorable Halloween sugar cookies from @saysugarcustomcookies which really brought the Halloween themed to life! We absolutely loved the color combos and how it coordinated so well with the Halloween tableware. Totally spook-tacular!Last but not least, a Halloween themed party wouldn’t be complete without Halloween candies! I prepared a Halloween sweets board using this awesome Boo Bamboo Tray featuring vintage font and filled it with Halloween themed candies and sweets, including these fun Marshmallow Lollipop Stirrers featuring designs of a skeleton, a black cat and a spider web, and these cute Ghoulishly Marshmallow Candies. It was a big hit with all the little ghouls and goblins at the party!I also made a fun adult charcuterie board with a small posable skeleton inspired by a picture I saw on Pinterest. How fun is this?Halloween Balloon Decorations
We created a 12-ft balloon garland featuring balloons in black, orange, blush and white and decorated the trampoline with it. On the balloon garland, we included this awesome black starburst foil balloon as the final touch. How cool was that?Next to the trampoline, we decorated one side of the deck with the spider cobweb and added these spooky yet adorable spider foil balloons. Together they made a great backdrop for fun Halloween photos!Party Favor Tables & Activities
We set up a couple of fun Halloween games including the ball toss, Halloween ghost bowling lane in the concrete area where the Halloween inflatables were at. Next to the games, we put up a table with party favors in these spooky cool Skull Treat Bags and set up a mini Halloween temporary tattoo parlor. This set of Halloween Glow Temporary Tattoo Sheets was simply boo-tastic! They glow in the dark and have silver holographic foil details too. Evan the adults at the party wanted to get their hands on these too!Piñata Time
We had this giant Halloween Honeycomb Garland Set hung next to the piñata. Featuring stars, cobwebs, spiders, pinwheels, a crescent moon, honeycomb balls, it was such a statement decoration and set a spooky tone for piñata time!My son had a blast celebrating his big day with his best friends at this spooky boo-thday party. And for me, I was so happy that we made yet another wonderful memories with our friends and family in such a fun and special setting.
