Lightning Bolt Inspired Superhero Party
My little guy, Louis is all about superheroes these days. So for his 4th birthday party, throwing him a superhero bash was a no-brainer. While Louis is into all kinds of superheroes, he’s specifically obsessed with lighting bolts since in his little mind, lighting bolts equal super powers! So when Yao and I styled his party, naturally lightning bolt was the key element of the party. It’s iconic yet simple and definitely helped set the modern look of this superhero party!
DECORATIONS
The party was held in the backyard of my own house. For the backdrop, Yao and I made a bright and colorful balloon garland using our Superhero Balloon Cloud Kit and incorporated some jumbo latex balloons. We attached the balloons to a backdrop stand along with this cheerful superhero garland and the big lightning bolt foil balloon to create a power-infused fun background behind the kids table.
TABLESCAPE
We love a modern party look for kids party so when it comes to tablescaping for the kids table, we deliberately went with a white tablecloth with a black-n-white striped runner for the rest of bright decorations and tableware to pop. We used some of Louis’ favorite superhero toys and a mini cinema lightbox as the centerpiece around the birthday cake. They really helped set the scene! For the tableware, we chose this stunning silver star plate and layered it with the superhero plate. With the coordinated superhero cups and napkins, it gave the table a modern and bright feel. I absolutely love how it turned out!
Lastly, I covered the kids seats with capes in different colors and prepared these awesome superhero masks for each little guest to play dress-up during the party.
THE CAKE
Each world-saving hero deserves some special cakes and treats for their birthday and so does my little superhero! I got an amazing superhero cake with a modern design of a city skyline at the bottom and superhero masks at the top from Daphne at DH Cake Studio. I dressed it with these superhero cake toppers and the glitter gold number 4 candle. The cake was so perfect that many of our guests couldn’t believe it was a real cake! lol. In addition, I also got some cupcakes on the side and used these coordinating superhero cupcake toppers. They look so fun, aren’t they?
PHOTOBOOTH
Yao had this brilliant idea of creating a fantastic backdrop in the shape of a lightning bolt with foil fringe curtains in silver, gold, and black. We created this epic photo booth backdrop the day before the event. We knew it wasn’t an easy task but boy did it turn out so awesome and so worth it! We got so many wows and oohs from our guests! I specifically loved this jumbo batman mask foil balloon in the backdrop. How cool is that? Check out this blog post on DIY tutorial of this rad lightning bolt photo booth backdrop. We also prepared some superhero photo booth props for fun photos and boomerangs. Our guests of all ages had such a fun time!
ENTERTAINMENT
Besides the jumping house and trampoline, I also got a super rad gold pinata in the shape of lightning bolt from APINATA4U and filled it with delicious treats and superhero themed goodies. It matches perfectly with the whole party and kids had fun releasing their super energy during pinata time!
GOODIE BAGS
Lastly, all the little heroes came home happily with favor bags filled with superhero themed goodies. I used a superhero rubber stamp for the bags that I previously got from Daydream Society. Very simple but I absolutely loved the modern and chic look of it!
Hope you like this SUPER party as much as we do! Until next time!
Xoxo,
Tai
